About Us

Mama Sheila’s Farm Store is committed to connecting families with quality, locally sourced food and products.

Mama Sheila's Farm Store is owned and operated by Sheila Howlett and her two daughter's Jacy and Jordy.

The farm store journey started as a business plan project Jordy created while studying Agri-Business at Lakeland College.

In April of 2021, the business plan became a reality when Mama Sheila's Farm Store opened its doors!

We are proud to call ourselves Alberta ranchers and believe in raising quality livestock using ethical and sustainable management practices. The farm store is an extension of our third-generation family farm that allows us to share the quality products we were raised on with our community. Through our farm-to-table marketing approach, we strive to help families reconnect with their food and consume products they can feel good about!

Sheila

My name is Sheila Howlett aka Mama Sheila!

At any time you can find me chasing chickens, cattle, or grandkids. I am a mother of five, three boys and two girls and a grandma of three! In 2021, I graduated as a Licensed Practical Nurse as it was alwaus a dream of mine.

My daughters often refer to me as a crazy chicken lady.  I have a very diverse flock of hens that lay a colourful variety of eggs and I am always adding new birds to my flock or hatching chicks of my own!

I have always loved baking, cooking, sewing and crafting!  You can find many of my homemade products in-store including laundry soaps, salves, jams and baking. My days are busy but I love what I do!

Jordy

I’m Jordy, the second youngest of Mama Sheila's five kids (and I’d say the funniest)! I graduated with my Crop Technology diploma in June of 2020, my diploma in Agri-Business in June of 2021 and my degree in Agriculture Technology in April of 2023 from Lakeland College in Vermillion.

My love for the agriculture industy started at a young age, helping to raise the orphan calves on our family farm.

It wasn’t until attending college did I begin to understand the complexity of the ag industy. There are so many sectors that are meticulously intertwined, relying on each other to survive. Although the industry is challenging and complex, knowing you are a contributor to something so essential provides such an accomplished feeling.

Jacy

My name is Jacy, I am Sheila's oldest daughter and second oldest of the crew.

In April 2023, my husband Michael and I welcomed our son Gunner who was the perfect addition to our little family.

I work in Children's Mental Health and have a degree in Child and Youth Care! Although I am very passionate about my work in the community, the agricultral industry has alwuas had my heart!

I am so thankful for the upbringing my parents provided us kids. They always encouraged and supported us in being involved in all aspects of farming + ranching! I truly believe the  industry has helped to shape who I am today and I will be forever grateful for that!

This farm store journey has been so fun! Despite the challenges, I have learned so much and look forward to what the futrue holds!
